Don’t buy this product

Bought this oven a few years ago. It has to preheat before baking and takes forever. If you have to change the temperature it has to preheat again and takes even longer. I tried to contact the company but the only contact information I could find was an email address. I sent them the information and what I could do about it. They NEVER WROTE BACK. I thought I was buying a premium product but I will never buy this companies products again.

The preheating issue

Hi,
I just bought this item. At first, I too thought the "preheat" was stuck. Here's how I solved it:
Set to Bake (or whatever) press center of setting knob
Set temp to 450 (or whatever) press center of setting knob
Set time to 15 minutes (or whatever) press center of knob
Press the Start/Play button. Preheat will begin flashing on display
Eventually the Preheat becomes solid and stops flashing. Dumb design feature because we humans expect the Preheat light to go out once it is preheated. I've figured out that for this oven it stays on when cooking... just doesn't flash.
SO ONCE THE PREHEAT LIGHT IS SOLID, JUST HIT THE START/PLAY BUTTON ONCE MORE. Voila, timer will start counting down and all is well.
None of this is covered in the manual, which is also dumb.
Otherwise I like the product a lot.

Preheat problem

I agree with the last few reviews. Sometimes it gets stuck in the preheat mode and never "beeps" as ready. They need to fix this and provide a recall.

Is it me or you?

I’ve had this toaster for almost a year now. Still don’t understand how it works. Preheating - timer function seems broken. What’s the trick Paderno. Why is something that should be so simple not function properly? Do away with the preheat please. I can work with just a timer that shuts off when the time expires, but if this is a defect let me know so I can take it back and get one that works.

Trash, don't buy it

Looking for a toaster oven than might bake things...but might just stay on pre-heat forever, never start the timer, and then shut off automatically?

I assume there's some sort of programming issue...but what a complete waste of time and money. Don't buy it.
